Ashley + Taylor

There is something so fulfilling when the people you love find the people they love. I know I mentioned this before, but Ashley is one of my nearest and dearest.

I think we all knew from early on that Taylor was something special.  Being able to experience their wedding day as a bridesmaid was so fun, but I am also so glad J was able to take the brunt of the filming - I loved being able to give them the gift of watching it again several weeks later. Experiencing our work while our couples see it for the first time is not something we get to do often, so being able to all share that moment together was really fun for us as filmmakers.

Also, don't even get me started on Taylor's family, who is absolutely amazing. His sister did, in fact, Rick Roll the entire wedding in her speech, but I might just save that for a day when you least expect it. Fear the links from here on out, my friends.

Amber + Joe - Surprise engagement shoot

This past weekend was a particularly special one for my family. My brother Joe and his girlfriend, Amber, got engaged! I’m so thrilled and happy for them. Amber has always been such a great fit in our family and she has always brought the best out in my brother.

Several weeks back, Joe called me to tell me he was planning to propose to Amber. We talked strategy, rings, and of course, I presented the idea of a surprise shoot. Joe was very excited at the idea of preserving such a special moment and immediately agreed.  Our plotting and planning continued for the next few weeks.

On Saturday morning, we all headed down to the Carpinteria Bluffs. Joe walked us through his plan, and Jordan and I set up our cameras. My parents arrived with Amber's and they all walked down to the water. Shortly after, Joe arrived with Amber. He walked her out to the bluff’s edge, over looking the beach, where he had “Will You Marry Me” written in the sand. She happily said yes.

After some champagne on the beach, we all went out for a delicious lunch. It was such a great day and I am honored to have been included in such a special moment in my brother’s and future sister-in-law's life.
